Josep Lluís Sert

Design Biographies
osep Lluís Sert (1902-1983) was one of the most influential Spanish architects and urban planners of the 20th century. Not only via his architecture and urban design projects, but also through his positions as dean of the Harvard Graduate Design School and President of the CIAM (International Congresses of Modern Architecture), Sert contributed to the enrichment -and upgrading- of the architectural principles of functionalism, by blending them with the timeless features of Mediterranean architecture and the visual stimuli of contemporary art.
