Retículas. 6 Archetypes

Martínez Palou presents a series of works inspired by a selection of unique buildings in Barcelona—such as the Mitre and the Seida—constructed in the second half of the 20th century. These buildings embody the characteristics of the international Modern Movement, adapting certain formal aspects to the economic and social context of the Catalan capital.
The works consist of various fragments of facades by emblematic architects like Moragas, Mitjans, Bonet Castellana, Barba Corsini, among others, many of whom were part of Grupo R. Through the layering of elements and the use of engraving techniques, Martínez Palou highlights the geometries and atmosphere of these architectural models that shaped the city of Barcelona during that era.
