Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá, a memorable architectural duo, once again teamed up with Miguel Milá—designer and Alfonso’s younger brother—to address the furnishing needs of the new official office of Pasqual Maragall, then mayor of Olympic-era Barcelona. This office was set to welcome key figures from the international political community and urgently needed a redesign that would showcase Barcelona’s refined design sensibility to the world.
Together, the trio conceived two essential pieces: a lighting solution, as well as a small side table to support the office’s auxiliary needs. The production of the original pieces was entrusted to Santa & Cole, who in 1995 began the serial production of this family, naming it after the mayor’s wife.
