Miguel Milá
A Historic Silhouette

First awarded the Gold Delta in 1964 and famously championed by juror Max Bill, Miguel Milá’s M64 marked a milestone in Spanish design. More than just a lamp, it helped define the emergence of design as a professional, modern discipline. Milá himself would later refer to it, affectionately, as “the Max Bill lamp.”

Over the decades, the M64 has been reimagined through countless finishes—opaque or translucent, in glass or metal, across a wide range of colors—and supported by a variety of structures. But its defining feature has always remained unchanged: the shade. Its form—sensuous, bold and serene—continues to express everything essential about this enduring icon.
