Preserving the iconic half-sphere shade and the peripheral light created by its slit, we expand the Fontana family with its floor version—more than fifty years after its creation. Fontana Alta features a discreet circular base that supports the structure and shade, along with a discreet dimmer located on top. Its versatility makes it perfect for accompanying the calm of home, the frenzy of work, or a deep conversation in a restaurant.
Conceived by André Ricard, its name pays homage to the artist Lucio Fontana, who challenged the history of art by slashing his pristine oil paintings—a revolutionary gesture and a declaration of rupture with pictorial tradition. His work, characteristic of the Space Age, proposed a new sense of three-dimensionality in art.
