With a mastery of form and function, Miguel Milá distilled the three basic elements of any lamp: structure, electrical components and shade. From a cross-shaped base rises a first section of the stem, square in profile, which shifts to a circular form halfway up. A lightweight frame holds the bulb socket, with a shade that swivels around its axis and adjusts in height with a simple rubber ring—like a sail hoisted up a mast.
