Fontana is a split hemisphere that delivers an excellent vertical light flow—always glare-free—alongside indirect peripheral illumination. A piece with sculptural presence and a futuristic air.

Designed by André Ricard, its name honors the artist Lucio Fontana, who challenged the history of art by slashing his pristine canvases as a revolutionary gesture and a break from pictorial tradition. His Concetti Spaziali series, emblematic of the so-called Space Age, proposed a new dimensionality in art.

As early as 1946, in his White Manifesto, Fontana advocated for a mental and physical opening toward space. To transcend the limits of the pictorial plane, he called for incorporating time, movement, and light itself as artistic materials. He envisioned works that extend beyond the frame, interacting with their environment.

In that same spirit, the Fontana lamps honor that radical gesture through design: light is not just a medium, but material. It shapes space, alters perception, and turns a functional object into a sensorial experience.
