Sistema Gran Fonda is the larger-scale of the original Sistema Fonda. It consists of tubular structures that hold one or three light points, assembled using three types of connectors: straight joints for linear runs, elbows for 90-degree turns, and end caps to complete the composition. The shades, generous in presence and always fitted with a bottom diffuser, are available in ribboned or white linen finishes.

In the early 1990s, Gabriel Ordeig Cole—artist, designer, and co-founder of Santa & Cole—was commissioned to illuminate a large restaurant: Fonda Europa in Granollers (Barcelona). The goal was to achieve a uniform, pleasant light that would warmly support conversation around the table.
