Casa Ter

Barcelona, Spain

Designed by Mesura
Photography by Salva López

A poetic setting between sea, mountains and countryside

Designed by Mesura, this house located in Baix Empordà responds to a non-invasive architecture, prioritizing the conservation of the natural environment. Treated with care, the vegetation takes root as a fundamental element of the construction. A local tribute in a contemporary rustic style, where native materials have been used, such as the stones from the river Ter or the ceramics from La Bisbal. The house has been designed in such a way that you can enjoy the panoramic view of the area. Built in two volumes joined by a central porch, whose windows allow a total opening outwards. Discretely arranged, two M64s light up this transit and dining area. The project brilliantly combines the interior and exterior environment, allowing the user to flow in the versatility of this home. Casa Ter houses a friendly selection of pieces from Santa & Cole. From the designer Ilmari Tapiovaara, for whom nature was the best design manual, the Maija lamps. In the kitchen and living room respectively, its tabletop and suspension versions, made up of a tower of metal saucers through which light subtly filters through. In front of the sofa, a scene that invites contemplation. The background grove framed by the large window and various decorative objects, among which is Moragas, a luminaire of elegant simplicity. In the same room, a Metallic Basket contrasts elements and textures: a solid stainless steel structure holds the opal glass globe, crowned by a natural-colored leather handle. Light serenity to connect with this wonderful place.
