Claudi Aguiló Riu graduated in architecture in 1991, but since 1987 he started collaborating with the team of architects of the Unitat de Projectes I Obres at the Direcció de Serveis d'Urbanisme (projects and Works for the Town-Planning department) of the metropolitan corporation of the city of Barcelona.

Since March 1993, Aguiló leads the team of the Servei de projectes at the Direcció de Serveis de l'Espai Públic (Services for Public Spaces). They have carried out many projects, such as the sea promenade in Gavá-Castelldefels, the Els Pinetons park (FAD outdoors award...

They have carried out many projects, such as the sea promenade in Gavá-Castelldefels, the Els Pinetons park (FAD outdoors award selection in 2000, and Biennal Architecture of the Vallés selection in 2001), the closure of the Can Mercader park in Cornellà del Llobregat (FAD outdoors award selection in 2001).

In 1998, Aguiló designed together with Xavier Nogués the Área beacon to signal and give low lighting to open urban spaces, big promenades or parks, edited by Santa & Cole.
