Evarist Mora was born in Barcelona in 1904 and studied at the Llotja academy. When he ended his studies, he moved to Paris for one year and was hosted by ceramist Llorens Artigas in his own house. Mora received awards from the Triennial of Milan and the Biennial of Venice for his poster designs, and was vicepresident of the Cercle de Sant Lluc and the FAD.

In 1936, Mora participated in the Saló d Artistes Decoradors, and in 1942 in the Salón del Hogar Moderno, an exhibition organized by the FAD that took place once a year in very peculiar settings, where architects and famous artists would show their avant-garde pieces of furniture and other domestic complements. It is for this exhibition, held at the Coliseum movies theater of Barcelona, that he designed the Coliseum armchair, a geometrical piece of furniture inspired in the Art Déco style, and currently edited by Santa & Cole.

After the Spanish civil war, in association with Josep Mir, Mora worked on the interior design of emblematic places of Barcelona such as the Salón Rosa, Gonzalo Comella and other stores of El Dique Flotante. He also designed the marquetry and murals for the Sears department stores, the L'Expansió Catalana series for the Barcelona town council, the Sala del Consolat de Mar, and the Taula de Canvi at the Banc Condal.

The restoration of the "Els gegants del Pi", the giant puppets made of papier maché for the del Pi church in Barcelona, hidden at the Pedralbes monastery during the civil war, is also Mora's merit.
