He graduated in architecture at the ETSAB (Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona) in 1982 and obtained a Master in Architecture and Building Design from the University of Columbia in New York in 1985. Henrich worked in the Urban Projects Department of Barcelona City Council (1987 - 2004) and as an architect in the Public Space Service of Barcelona Metropolitan Area (2004 - 2007). In collaboration with architects such as Olga Tarrasó, Jaume Artigues, Cinto Hom and others, Jordi Henrich has designed various public spaces of the city of Barcelona, mainly the public spaces system of the perimeter of the Port Vell and of the Barceloneta neighbourhood: the promenades between the city, the port and the beach such as Barceloneta Quay, Barceloneta Promenade, the Plaza del Mar and Barceloneta Park; the public space of the covering of the Ronda del Mig between Diagonal and Capmany; the Paseo Lluís Companys (1991); the Rambla del Poble Nou (1991); the projects for Calle Marina (Diagonal - Ausiàs Marc) and for Avenida de Roma (together with Antonio Montes and Montse Periel). In addition to the projects carried out in Barcelona, Henrich has carried out public space projects in Weiblingen (Germany), Rotterdam (Holland) and Montpellier (France). As for street furniture, together with Olga Tarrasó, Jordi Henrich designed the Nu Bench (1991), published by Santa & Cole; the Z Streetlamps for Socelec; the Kanya column, with Jaume Artigues and Miquel Roig for Escofet; and the Philipa and Nervión columns together with Julià Espinàs, situated in the surroundings of the Guggenheim in Bilbao. His work has been worthy of various awards such as the first Ignasi de Lecea prize 2005-2006 for his contribution to the public space of Barcelona; the Década 2007 Award and the Special Mention of the City of Barcelona Awards 1997 for the Ronda del Mig. He was also a finalist on several occasions for the FAD awards and in the European Biennial Exhibition on Landscape Gardening of the Biennial Exhibition of Spanish Architecture. Henrich combines his professional work with academic work. He gives lectures on the public space of Barcelona in different European cities; he teaches Design of Urban Elements at the Eliva School; Public Space Projects at the ETSAB and on the Master of Town Planning at the UPC and Projects on the Diploma and Master of Landscape Gardening of the ETSAB.
