Rosario Moreno Torres

Rosario Moreno Torres was born in Granada, where she studied law. In 1985, she decided to study industrial design at the Polictecnica di Design of Milan, as she felt more attracted to creating objects for domestic spaces. In Milan, she collaborated with various professional studios in many different fields: industrial design, color&texture design, editorial graphic design, interior architecture, and others. She designed from ski boots for Nordica, to color projects for Cassina or livings in the old part of Milan. In 1989, she undertook the Design.Informazione.Ricerca project on the processing of the surface of industrial projects, of which she became a tutor in 1992. In 1993, Moreno and José de Rivera set up their own studio in Granada, a studio that has focused on interior design projects for commercial establishments, livings and exhibition areas, and on customized furniture as well. Their work stands out for its eclecticism, and the passion for mixing, inventing and working together with other people. Moreno and de Rivera are strongly linked to Santa & Cole, they have worked together on many industrial products, such as the Lucero lamp, and on crafts products, such as their attentive supervision of the La Memoria de las Cosas collection. They also collaborate with many publications in the field of design, and are responsible since 1992 of GapCasa Italia in Spain, that is specialized in distributing and producing contemporary furniture.
