Leiko Ikemura is a contemporary Japanese artist known for her pictorial representation and the duality of Western and Eastern culture in her work. Born in Tsu in 1951, she has lived most of her life in Europe, including Spain, Germany and Switzerland. She currently lives in Berlin, where she teaches at the School of Fine Arts.
